Rita TESSIER (née Langois)

Rita D. (Langlois) Tessier, age 86, longtime resident of Dracut passed away peacefully at Northwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Lowell on Monday, November 4th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Robert A. Tessier, with whom she enjoyed 46 years of marriage.

She was born in Lowell on March 15, 1938, and was the daughter of the late Jeannette (Desrosiers) Kristensen and Armand Langlois.

She was a dedicated homemaker and a hard worker. For many years, she proudly served as a nurse's aide in the MP3 unit at Lowell General Hospital. Rita cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, and extended family. She and her husband, Bob, were inseparable, often enjoying evenings together playing cribbage and 45's. She also enjoyed going to the local clubs with Bob and having a few beers! She loved cooking, baking, and sewing. Her delicious cookies and cherry tarts were always a hit at family gatherings. A talented seamstress, Rita enjoyed mending and hemming clothing for her loved ones. She also found great joy in her summer vacations at Salisbury Beach. A two-time breast cancer survivor, Rita faced adversity with courage and grace. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends.

In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her daughter, Donna Marcotte, formerly of Lowell, her sons; Donald Marcotte and his wife, Julie, formerly of Lowell, and David Lowe and his wife, Karen, of Dracut and her three stepchildren; Bobby Tessier, Randy Tessier, and Stacy Smith of NH. She also leaves her sister, Lorraine Hopkins, sister-in-law, Gloria Langlois, and her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many, many friends!

Rita was predeceased by her brother, Roger Langlois and her brother-in-law, Jack Hopkins.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, CHELMFORD.
