Our beloved Shirley Kay Tescier returned to Spirit 31st October 2020 in Rapid City, South Dakota. Born September 18, 1944 in Van Nuys, California to Agnes and George Tescier. "Shirls" AKA "Squirrely Shirley" in her passing, Spirit returns a missing daughter home, separated far too long. She's dancing on the table...Mable... rejoicing with Dad, hugging her Mom, six siblings bound together...four brothers: Kenneth survived by wife Jackie, Reginald "Bud" and wife Joyce, Gale Gordon, and George Jr., One sister and BFF Joyce Ann and her husband Ed Waite greatest brother in law ever; all of whom proceed her to that peaceful place.
Shirley grew up in California, graduated at Van Nuys High. She married high school sweetheart, Jimmy Lee Chamberlin their first born only daughter Debra Lynn arrived December 1963. They realized, and mutually agreed; to divorce. She met David Allio they married and their only daughter Tawnya Ann arrived in February 1967. Sadly, David met misfortune and entered Spirit the same year.
She was 23 years old, a widow, a Mother with a baby and a toddler. Alone yet fearless, selfless but determined to raise two little girls by herself. She found work waitressing, lucrative for a beautiful woman, working multiple shifts to make ends meet in the middle. Sometimes she was playful, instilled with morals and values that caused her to completely miss the "Peace, Love and Drugs" revolution at the time. She kept her head on straight and her nose to the grindstone always. In her 40s, remained single, supported herself working full time, she earned an associate degree in business from Cerro Coso Community College.
After 3 years of major depression, she suffered unrelenting grief only the strongest endure and live through it when her youngest daughter Tawnya Ann entered Spirit unexpectedly 2003 and she too proceeds her Mom to that peaceful place.
She lived in Ridgecrest, California 30 years before joining her eldest daughter in Rapid City, South Dakota where she loved the Native American culture and arts. Her father, born on the rolls a citizen of "Potawatomi Nation" in Shawnee, Oklahoma; bequeathed her oil and mineral rights. The Bureau of Indian Affairs sends the monthly statement if the balance is over zero, will only cut a check when the balance is over a dollar. Every few years, she would receive that fat check like clockwork, raking in her fortune; a dollar at a time.
She enjoyed crafting, beading jewelry and quilting. An amazing seamstress, whose handmade quilts and seasonal crafts, all cherished family keepsakes. A member of the Red Hat Ladies she loved planning the perfect attire for their monthly (cackling, I mean) meetings.
Shirley is proceeded in Spirit by first ex husband Jimmy Lee Chamberlin and husband David Allio, and their youngest daughter Tawnya Ann Allio Lowe who greeted her Spirit home. Niece Denise Tescier and Nephew Lenny Waite they proceed her to that peaceful place.

No one can ever recreate, her specialty, la Floorsalaad an Italian dish, she once served to us, without disgust; perfect poker face. After that meal, we voted she lost, nevertheless the plan she cooked up, it worked like a charm, never again taken up on her generous offers, so sweetly she'd say; any dish I can bring Deb? No, thanks Mom, we have plenty this year! Then a strange ominous warning became clear, holiday without Moms tasty eggs; is another matter; a little floor dirt, ever kill anyone? More fake news, we agreed the first time ever in a family matter; Mom that's how much your eggs brought to the holiday table. We want everyone to know how sad we all are, we're even missing your Italian dish, la Floorsalaad, our holiday dinner will never to the same. So without everyone's favorite deviled eggs, thanks Mom for not leaving the family recipe; our holiday dinner we will mourn this Mom forever into eternity.
The red road tracks her feet no more, Shirley's love wings to soar; into Spirit she's taken flight; forevermore.
