Salem - Laurence Guy Tessier (81) passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022. He was born on March 16, 1941, in Swampscott, MA, to the late Omer A. and Lillian G. (Guy) Tessier.
Raised in Salem, he graduated from Saint Joseph Academy in 1959 where he was an avid basketball and football player.
After graduating he served in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician Airman and received an honorable discharge. He attended Radio Electronics Technical School and Northeastern University in Boston, MA. He worked at EG&G, Inc. for four years and began his life long career at IBM and Kodak starting in 1968 and retiring at the age of 51 in 1992. After retiring, he started his own company, Larry's Transportation, then worked for the Lakeview Golf Course and the Council on Aging in Hamilton-Wenham and Salem, MA.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his partner of 41 years, Barbara A. (McGrane) Faircloth; his daughter Deb, husband Todd Rich of Kingston, NH and their children Katelyn and Michael; son Patrick, wife Stacey and their children Logan and Lindsey of Neenah, WI; son Steven, wife Stephanie and their children Molly and Zachary of Epping, NH; his sisters Jackie Smith and daughter Kristin Tessier of Hobe Sound, FL, Kathy, husband Charlie Fetcher and daughter Jessica Rocknowski of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Barbara's children William Faircloth, wife Sandy of Beverly, MA, and his children Jessica, Shane, Travis and Devyn, Lisa, husband Jay Middleton and daughter Ava of Beverly, MA; also, survived by many cousins.
He loved skiing, snowmobiling, golfing, playing pool, cribbage and darts. He also enjoyed many trips to Sebago Lake in Maine and spending time with his mentor the late Uncle Paul Guy. His enjoyments were to watch the sunrise while reading the newspaper at Winter Island, going for walks around the Salem Commons and taking his grandchildren to The Salem Willows.

Family and friends are welcome to attend the visiting hours on Thursday, March 31, 2022, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Murphy Funeral Home located at 85 Federal Street, Salem, MA. A funeral service will be held at Murphy Funeral Home on Friday, April 1, 2022, at 10 a.m. Burial will immediately follow the service and will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem, MA.
