TESSIER, Roger Etienne - In loving memory of Roger Etienne Tessier, 74 years, Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury. Beloved husband and true soulmate of Louise (DiPietro) Tessier. Loving father of Richard Tessier, Sharon (Henry Giesbrecht), James Tessier, Sandra (Stephen Griffiths) and Kim “Sophie“ (Doug Martineau), Lucie Wilson (Andre St. Amour), Dean DiPietro (Grace), Kevin DiPietro, and Tina DiPietro (Vince Murphy). Cherished grandfather of 23 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Loving son of Therese (Charbonneau) Tessier and predeceased by Jean Baptiste Tessier. Dear brother of Marie (Bruno Clauzier), Lise (Claude Lafreniere), Laurent (Marie), Charles (Liliane), Francoise (Ken Andres), Denise (Bob Blais), Denis (Dorothy), Rachelle (Larry Samson), Gaetane (Bill Evans), Gaetan (Mary), Michel (Lisa), Christine (Raymond Bertrand), Normand and predeceased by Claire Gibbons and Maurice Tessier. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Roger had worked for 11 years in the mines at Elliot Lake, Copper Cliff for Dravo, and Falconbridge Ltd. He then worked in Niagara Falls/St. Catharines as a carpenter by trade, opening his own Pool business in St. Catharines for 17 years. He worked for Wild at Heart Animal Sanctuary and he was an active member of Habitat for Humanity for 10 years. He had been courageously battling respiratory illness for years. Roger embraced life and lived it to the fullest, having many interests and activities including dancing, reading, especially history books, and action movies. The focus of his life was his family and he was happiest at family get-togethers. He took great interest in his children and stepchildren and their families' activities and accomplishments. The light of his life will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. Memorial Visitation at the JACKSON and BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury (Friends may call after 10am Saturday). Memorial Service in the R. J. Barnard Chapel Saturday, May 11th, 2013 at 12 noon. Cremation with interment in the Civic Cemetery. Donations to Wild at Heart, Habitat for Humanity, Lung Association or the Maison Vale Hospice would be appreciated.
