It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerry peacefully, in hospital, surrounded by family, on Monday, May 16, 2011 in his 90th year. Gerry will be sadly missed by family and friends. He leaves to mourn the love of his life, Violet (nee Martin), after 65 years of marriage. Son of the late Alfred and Marie Tessier. Cherished father of Robert (Gail), Richard (the late Leila), Gerry Jr. (Carolle), Michel (Peggy), Dianne, and Shirley Mackenzie (Ian). Caring grandfather of eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Predeceased by his brother Marcel. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and good friends that he made throughout the years. Visitation at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, May 19. Funeral mass on Friday, May 20 at 10 a.m. in St. Bernard's Church, 1720 St. Bernard Street. In memoriam donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated.
