Jennie TESSIER (née Rea)

TESSIER, Jennie R. Jennie R. Tessier, 88, a longtime resident of Enfield, entered into her eternal rest on Wednesday, (February 2, 2011) in the comfort of her home. Born on April 29, 1922, in Providence, RI, Jennie was the daughter of the late Tommaso and Angelina (Mollicone) Rea. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Stanadyne for over 30 years. Jennie was a faithful communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Enfield, and a member of the Ladies Club at Stanadyne, and also participated in their bowling league. In her leisure time, she loved cooking and going to Mohegan Sun with the Enfield Seniors to play the slot machines. Most of all, she experienced great joy in spending time with her granddaughters. A beloved mother and grandmother, Jennie is survived by her children, Alfred Tessier, Jr. and his wife, Patricia of Brooklyn, NY and Marilyn Tessier of Boston, MA; her granddaughters, Isabel and Ana; her sisters-in-law, Claire Franklin and Doris Tessier, both of East Hartford, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and siblings, Jennie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alfred in 1995. Relatives and friends may gather at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, on Tuesday morning, February 8, 2011 at 9 a.m. for a procession to St. Patrick's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday evening, February 7, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
