Raymond TESSIER



Raymond "Gene" Tessier, 93, of 62 Oak Street, East Hartford, loving husband of the late Margaret Ann (DiNardo) Tessier, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday (February 9, 2009) at the Glastonbury Health Care Center.


Born in Woonsocket, RI on September 10, 1915, a son of the late Albert and Ida (Gaboury) Tessier, he had resided in Glastonbury for many years prior to moving to East Hartford in 1953.


Prior to his retirement, Gene was employed for 37 years by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford in the Production Test Department, retiring as a General Foreman. Although Gene was a quiet individual, he enjoyed working on automobiles and being a "handy-man" of all kinds, who loved his family and helping others. Gene and his late wife, Margaret, enjoyed many years together at their homes in Guilford, NH and Punta Gorda, FL. Gene will be missed by all who knew him.


Besides his beloved wife and parents, Gene was predeceased by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert A. and Maryann (LaPenta) Tessier of East Hartford; a brother Alfred "Fred" Tessier of Enfield; a sister Lillian Tessier of East Hartford; and a brother-in-law Paul Franklin of East Hartford. Gene is survived by a son Harold E. Tessier and his wife Lyla of Port St. Lucie, FL; two daughters, Janet Cardarelli and her husband Richard of Framingham, MA, Jeanne Shellington and her husband James of Glastonbury; two sisters, Claire Franklin and Doris Tessier, both of East Hartford; a sister-in-law Jenny Tessier of Enfield; seven special grandchildren; five adored great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.


Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 13 at 11 a.m. at the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford.
Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury.
Relatives and friends may call at the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday morning from 10-11 a.m.
