ASCUTNEY — Memorial services for Hazel I. Rev. Rene Butler, M.S., Pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor officiated. Committal services will be held at the convenience of her family in the St. Francis Cemetery in Windsor.

She was born Nov. 3, 1926 in Lebanon, N.H., the daughter of Carroll C. and Dorothy Inez (Lashua) Brooks.

She was the fourth of nine children, one of whom was her twin brother Vernol, who was stillborn.

She married Ralph Tesiser of Warwick, R.I., on Oct. 17, 1946. They were later divorced. She married Ferris Stocker of Cavendish on June 28, 1958, on North Charlestown, N.H. He passed away on Oct. 29, 1985.

Hazel was employed at the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Windsor, for several years where she formed many lifelong friendships. She also worked as the Police Dispatcher in Windsor; a job she particularly loved and spoke about often over the years.

After retiring from the Windsor Police Department she lived a quiet life with her family nearby, and enjoyed  the companionship of her beloved German shepherd, Skylar. She was a voracious reader and faithfully did a couple of crossword puzzles a day until just the last few months.

Hazel had resided in Ascutney for many years, with her son, Karl Tessier, and his longtime partner and Hazel’s caretaker over the last few years, Jay Morgan.

Survivors include her two sons, Douglas Tessier and his wife, Sylvia, of Newport, N.H., and Karl Tessier and his partner, Jay Morgan of Ascutney; three sisters, Madeline Kapis and her husband, John of Hartland, Jane Lasure of Hartland, and Dee Brooks of Windsor; her grandchildren, Tracy Fitzherbert and her children, Brittany Lafont of Claremont, N.H., Cody Lafont of Claremont and Tanner Fitzherbert of Ascutney; Chad McDachern of Alabama; Kristen Leonard and her husband, BJ of Brownsville; her great-granddaughter, Sarah Nowlan of Windsor; and one great-great-granddaughter Olivia; daughter of Sarah and  Clay; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents; three brothers, Donald, Roger and Vernol; and two sisters, Barbara and Helen.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Upper Valley Humane Society, 300 Old Route 10, Enfield, NH 03748.
