Michel Tessier 1945-2010
GLENS FALLS — Michel "Mike" Tessier, 65, of South Street, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on July 4, 1945, in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late Noel and Regina (Parthenais) Tessier.

Mike attended St. Paul's School in Hudson Falls and left to enlist in the U.S. Army. He served his country in Vietnam, under the 101st Armory Division out of Fort Knox. During this time, Mike was a radio and telephone operator.

On March 23, 1969, he married Doralee Donaldson at St. Paul's Church in Hudson Falls. They had 41 wonderful years of marriage.

Mike was employed at Price Chopper for 46 years. With so many years under his belt, he knew the ins and outs of the store and how it should be run.

He enjoyed fishing with his boys, camping and going on cruises. Mike loved life and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a dependable, loyal and hard working man, who loved his wife, children, grandchildren and sister, dearly. Mike will be missed deeply by his family and friends.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Renauld Tessier; his sister, Rita Saucier, and his godparents, Homer and Victoria Tessier.

Survivors include his loving wife, Doralee Tessier of Glens Falls; his four children: Ellen VanPelt and her husband, David, of Clifton Park, Laura Tessier of Norfolk, Va., Edward Tessier and his wife, Christy, of Queensbury and Jon Tessier and his wife, Magen, of Glens Falls; his grandchildren: Zachary Kingsbury, Teighlor Kingsbury, Mason Barrant, Kyle Flynn, Emily VanPelt, Katelyn VanPelt and Alexander VanPelt; his great-grandchild, Madison Barrant; his sister, Annette St. John and her husband, James, of Fort Edward; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Monday (today) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Mary's/St. Paul's Church on the park in Hudson Falls.

The Rite of Committal will be conducted at noon on Tuesday at Gerald B.H. Solomon Cemetery in Schuylerville.

The family suggests that Memorial donations be made to the American Red Cross, Adirondack Saratoga Chapter, 74 Warren St., Glens Falls, NY 12801.
