Bernadine M. Tacey of Essexville, Michigan passed away April 18, 2023 at the age of 86. She was born June 16, 1936 to the late Eugene B. and Lottie Talaga in Wayne, Michigan. Bernadine worked for Normandy Dress Co. sewing 100% cotton dresses for 15 years then went on to Wolverine Knitting Co. for 6 years. She married Raymond Tacey on May 25, 1963 at St. Johns Catholic Church of Essexville. Over the years, Bernadine, Raymond and their nephew Jerry worked side by side on the family potato farm. Eventually, Jerry purchased the farm and has continued the family operation. She also enjoyed sewing, baking, wood working, riding her bike, building jig-saw puzzles, and playing cards.
Surviving her are husband, Raymond Tacey; brothers: John (Betty) Talaga; David Talaga, Ray (Dorla) Talaga; sister-in-laws: Sally Tacey, Gail Talaga; niece, Bonnie Talaga; nephew, Jerry (Kathy) Talaga; great nephew, Andrew Talaga; many other beloved nieces, nephew, cousins, friends, and caregiver, Sally Chard. Preceded in death: Eugene Talaga, Roy Talaga; sister-in-law, Carolyn Talaga; brother-in-law, Leslie Tacey.
Honoring Bernadine's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. The family would like to extend gratitude to the caregivers and Brian's House for the exceptional care. Those considering a donation in her name may wish to consider the Brian's House.
