Anna Lorraine “Missy” Tessier, age 93 of Hastings (Cow Town) passed away on February 27, 2023.
She was born on November 5, 1929 to Aloysius and Anna (Majeski) Huberty in Hastings. The family later moved to Duluth where she graduated from St. Jeans the Baptist School in 1947.
On February 18, 1950 she married Henri Tessier in Duluth. They were married in a double wedding ceremony with Henri’s sister Lorraine, and husband Bob DeRoche. Henri and Missy were blessed with eight children, and in 1959 they moved back to Hastings where they lovingly raised their family.
Missy worked at the Sears store in Hastings for many years, and later worked as a health aide at the Cochran House. The family enjoyed time at their cabin near Duluth. She liked to bowl, golf, sing in the church choir, watch the birds at her feeders, and tend to her flowers.
She enjoyed cooking for her family of 10, however, she cooked and baked as if she had a family of 20. There were always sweet treats in the house, pies, caramel rolls, cookies, along with many other goodies. The refrigerator was always full of delicious leftovers. Holidays were especially meaningful to her, and she would prepare and cook for days prior to the event. She loved to have a house full of guests.
The biggest joy for Missy was all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved spending time with them. She enjoyed having conversations with the kids and watching them as they interacted with one another.
She was a devout Catholic, and her faith and family were the most important things in her life.
She is survived by her children, Mark (Mary) Tessier, Wendy (Terry) Chandler, Joyce (Kim) Kochendorfer, Tim Tessier, Paula (Joe) Tessier-Honsey, James Tessier, Mary Dawn (Mark) Phillips; 17 grandchildren, Bobbi Jo Coffey, Angie Reid, Zac Tessier, Don Chandler, Tara Whorton, Wes Kochendorfer, Ashley Slapnicher, Ross Kochendorfer,
Nikia Tessier, Chase Tessier, Cole Tessier, Hailen Tessier-Morse, Ian Tessier-Morse, Owen Tessier-Morse, Parker Tessier-Morse, Stephanie Fischer, and 25 great grandchildren. Brother Jerry Huberty, sister Virginia “Gina” (Joesph “Bob”) Murphy, and other relatives and friends.
Missy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Henri Tessier, son Hank Tessier, grandchild Anna Kristine Sieben, brother Aloysius “Buster” Huberty, sister Margaret “Porky” (Jay) Smith, and sister-in-law Georgia Huberty.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held for family. Interment will take place in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Cemetery in Hastings.
Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel is assisting the family.
