Roger TESSIER


Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's at Fleming, on Monday, December 12, 2022 in his 88th year. Roger will be greatly missed by his spouse of 65 years, Margaret (nee Herlihey), also a resident of St. Joseph's at Fleming. Roger was a loving Dad and Grandpa to his four children, Paul (Deb), John (Kelly), Mark (Crystalyn), Lisa (Mike) and six grandchildren, Eric (Jenny), Jennifer (Ray), Michael, Laura (Ryan), Byron (HK), and Evan. Dear great grandpa to Penelope. Roger was predeceased by his parents Louis and Amanda (nee Allard) Tessier, sisters Yvette, Kin and his brother Paul. Roger was born in St. Catharines, Ontario where he completed an Apprenticeship in Tool and Die with GM. Roger and Margaret moved to Peterborough in 1958 where Roger was employed with Outboard Marine. Roger finished his career as a Tool and Die Maker with GM in Oshawa. Roger is remembered for his love of music. He learned to play drums in a Marching Band at age 14 and then began playing drums in Dance Bands. He was a member of St. Anne's Knights of Columbus for many years. In retirement, Roger was a member of the Fowlers Corners Lions Club and played saxophone with the New Horizons Band. The family would like to give sincere thanks to the staff at St. Joseph's at Fleming for their devoted care to Roger over the past three and a half years. Donations in Roger's memory to the St. Joseph's at Fleming Foundation would be appreciated by the family. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
