Elaine Ann TESSIER

Born on April 22, 1929, St Joseph’s Hospital in Tacoma, WA the daughter of Purissima and Joseph Albert Tessier. She died peacefully surrounded by her children on January 8, 2021, at Bridgeport Place Assisted Living, Tacoma, WA, she was 91.

Elaine lived in the greater Tacoma area for most of her life. She attended Lincoln High School, graduating in the class of 1947. During high school she worked at Woolworths and later went on to work at the bank. In 1950 she married Raymond J Bagley (d; 03/09/2005). They were married for 55 years.

Elaine is survived by her 5 children: Pamela Predovich (Mark), Michael Bagley (Wayne), Renee Vay (Tim), Michelle Bagley, Annette Deines (Brian), 10 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren and her families many loving spouses.

Her family was the most important thing to her and throughout her life she worked to support her children and grandchildren in all they did.

After she married Ray, they spent their time clearing their property and building a summer cabin on Long Lake, Olympia, which became a gathering place for all of their many friends and growing family and later became their permanent home where everyone was always welcome.

While raising her family, she ran her own day care fostering friendships that still exist today. She went on to Catholic Community Services (DSHS) providing care and support services to the elderly and later became their Payroll Manager until her retirement.

She was a eucharist minister and lector and participated in catholic daughters; St Patricks/Sacred Heart. One of her favorite things to do was to knit baby sweaters for her grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She loved to sew and quilt and was part of a quilting club donating quilts to St. Ann’s for the homeless. She also loved bowling and had her own kiln for painting ceramics.

In the more recent years, she spent her time tending to her deck garden, feeding her hummingbirds, rooting for the mariners and watching all the great grandkids she so adored grow.

Her grandkids will always remember her for her hugs, advice and the conversations that made them feel so loved. Bonding over Dancing with the Stars. Strawberries and cinnamon toast for breakfast and the pies for the holidays. Her ability to make creating the perfect home look so easy. And of course, the time spent tearing through her house where she never seemed to mind the mess.

She will be remembered for her loving support of her family, kind heart and caring ways. She will forever be in our thoughts and hearts.

We want to thank the great staff at Bridgeport Place Assisted living for their outstanding support and care during the covid shut down and during her final days. Their personalized care helped close the gap when the family was unable to visit in person.

A memorial service will be scheduled for the late summer (August). Please check back for more information.
