Maryetta TESSIER

Mrs. Maryetta Anderson, 81, of Abingdon, Illinois died at 4 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.

 

She was born August 21, 1936 in London Mills, Illinois, to Ezra and Margaret Betty Stotler Tessier.  She married Robert C. “Little Swede” Anderson May 11, 1963 in London Mills.  He preceded her in death October 21, 2004.

 

Surviving are two daughters, Georgetta Ross of Galesburg and Pam (and Tony) Allen of Abingdon; two step sons, Bobby (and Wilma) Anderson of Bushnell, Illinois and C.G. “Chip” Anderson of Bushnell; a brother, Loren Tessier of London Mills; a sister, Judy Anderson of Avon, Illinois; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

 

Mary worked at Outboard Marine Corporation, Gale Products Division in Galesburg for 29 years.  She later was a cook for Seminary Manor, Care Center of Abingdon, the Abingdon American Legion, and Abbe Lanes in Abingdon.  She was of the Methodist faith.  She was a member of the Abingdon American Legion.

 

Cremation will be accorded.  Graveside memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2017 at the Abingdon Cemetery.  Pastor Danny Hunt will officiate.  A Celebration of Life gathering will be at the American Legion in Abingdon following the service.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
