Ruth James, 101, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday August 15th, 2021. Ruth was born in Northampton, daughter of the late Wilfred and Ora (Blanchette) Tessier. Ruth lived in Holland, MA for 45 years before moving to Springfield, MA in 2003. Ruth worked at Wico Electric for over 37 years before retiring to enjoy time at her most favorite place Hamilton Reservoir. She loved her family and anything that had to do with nature. She admired watching birds and other wildlife and her absolute favorite thing to do was fish, catching her last fish at the age of 100. Ruth is predeceased by her parents, her brothers Walter and Donald Tessier, and a great-grandson Frank Bruso. She leaves behind her daughter Joanne Parisi, grandchildren; Linda Bruso and Nicholas Parisi, Great-grandchildren; Sandra Desautels, Giovanni, Dominic and Anthony Parisi, great-great grandchildren; George Bruso and Dylan Gryszowka, and a great-great-great grandson Kaleb Bruso. A funeral service will be held for Ruth at the West Springfield Curran-Jones on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 4-6:30 pm.
