LOWELL - Donald W. Tessier, age 86, a longtime resident of Lowell died Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Constance G. "Connie" (Chartrand) Tessier, to whom he was married for 63 years.
He was born in Lowell on September 5, 1934, and was a son of the late Alderic and Yvonne (Perreault) Tessier. He received his education in Lowell schools and was a graduate of the former Keith Academy in Lowell.
Donald proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 20 years as a meat cutter by Market Basket. Earlier in his career he was employed for many years by A & P Supermarket.
He was a longtime parishioner of the former Ste. Jeanne D'Arc Church in Lowell.
Donald and Connie enjoyed spending their winters in Florida for many years.
He also enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing golf, and playing softball, which he did for many years on both Tyngsboro and Florida leagues. Above all else, Donald cherished the time spent in the company of his loving family, especially his adoring grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by his four daughters, Donna M. Murphy of Merrimack, NH, Linda A. Fay of Moseley, VA, Elaine S. Aylward and her husband James of Nashua, NH, and Janice M. Dauphins and her husband Jeffrey of Litchfield, NH; five grandchildren, William Murphy and his wife Amanda of Cypress, TX, Keith Murphy and is wife Jonelle of Derry, NH, Evan Fay of Moseley, VA, Holly Gerard of Hooksett, NH, and Jessica Gerard of Manchester, NH; seven great grandchildren, Clark, Jude, Elliotte, Scout, Sienna, Grant, and London; a sister, Jacqueline Archambault of Tucson, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Donald's Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell, on Tuesday from 9:00 until 10:00 am followed by his Funeral Mass to be Celebrated at 11:00 am at St. Rita Church in Lowell.
