TESSIER, Rolande (née Desjardins) – It is with heaviness in our hearts
that we announce the sudden passing of Mrs. Rolande (Rolly) Huguette
Tessier; December 3rd, 2020. Beloved wife and best friend of Adelard
Tessier since 1959 and loving mother to her children; Colleen Tessier,
Andre Tessier (Louise), and Louise Filion (Rick). The memory of her as
“Mere” will be held dear by her 8 grandchildren (Sharina, Alayna, Tyler,
Dylan, Emilie, Eric, Alexandra, and Evan) and 5 great-grandchildren
(Peyton, Ryland, Taelynn, Rory, and Jaxx). Cherished sister and close
friend to her siblings; Gerald (Lucille), Rejean (Connie), and Yvon
Desjardins (Donna), and Johanne Cameron (Stephen). Predeceased by her
brothers Roger and Claude, and her parents Roland and Juliette (née
Marcil) Desjardins.
Rolande worked at the Bank of Montreal for over 35 years. In her
retirement, she enjoyed traveling south for the winters. She and Adelard
began by exploring the Caribbean with her brother Yvon (Donna) before
making annual trips to Florida, where they made countless memories and
lasting friendships. In more recent years (2004-2020), Rolande was
happiest when spending time at Lancaster RV Park where she will be
deeply missed by her fellow campers. Many will hold the memories of her
on the boat, fishing, and eating fresh perch close to their hearts as
they heal. Rolande was known for her unique gift of bringing people
together; and making everyone feel like family. Whether it was at the
trailer or her home, Rolande would welcome you with food, drinks, games,
laughter, and love. She touched the lives of all who knew her, and
although we can no longer see her with our eyes or touch her with our
hands, we will always feel her in our hearts.
We welcome the public to join us in paying their respects on Thursday
December 10, 2020 from 9:00AM – 11:00AM at Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt
Street, Cornwall. There will be controlled entrance and a face mask
will be required. A private funeral ceremony and celebration of life
will be held later on. Donations in memory can be made to Cornwall
Community Hospital Foundation and online condolences may be made at:
