Louise Tissue McWilliams, 87, of El Dorado, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at her home.
She was born in the Atlanta community of Columbia County on Nov. 1, 1927, to the late Thurston (Red) and Iris McWilliams Tissue. She was a 1945 graduate of Atlanta School. She accepted Christ as her Savior in 1967 and was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. She worked at Parkview Day Care Center for approximately 20 years and was known as “Ms. Mac.”
Louise began piecing quilts in the 70s and never tired of it. She was a member of both the day and night guilds in El Dorado. She began making Linus quilts in 2002 and later kids quilts. Hundreds of children have been blessed by her quilts in many states and Japan. She was the 2007 Union County Quilt Guild Quilter of the Year. She was known for her kind heart, sweet smile, loving nature, and her quilts.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, James A. McWilliams; her parents; infant sister Mary Alverne; daughter-in-law Jackie Bell McWilliams; and grandson Greg McWilliams.
Louise is survived by three children, Michael G. McWilliams and Karen Phillips and husband Ronnie of Magnolia and Denise Donahue and husband Robert of El Dorado; seven grandchildren, Scott and Jason McWilliams of Magnolia, Kara Sutton, Caleb Phillips, Evie Johnson of Shreveport, Haley Ryan of Houston, and Matt Donahue of Tulsa; 17 great- grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lawrence “Bo” Tissue and wife Billye.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bob Inmon, Life Touch Hospice chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Atlanta Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Scott McWilliams, Jason McWilliams, Matt Donahue, Caleb Phillips, Thomas Johnson and David Ryan.
