With shattered hearts and deep sadness, we announce the passing of our father, Denis James Tessier, on August 6th, 2020 after a lengthy battle with kidney disease.  With his family at his side, Denis passed away peacefully at his home in Tofield, Alberta at the age of 71 years.  Born in St. Paul, Alberta on March 20, 1949, he has now gone to reunite with his beloved brother, Leonard (1972), and father, Maurice (1983).

Always teasing and witty, fun loving and sincere, he was instantly adored by anyone he’d meet.  His presence lit up the room.  Denis’s family will forever miss and cherish him.  He leaves behind his mother, Barbara Tessier of Lamont; children Derek (Andrea) of Camrose and Jodie (Dwayne) of Sherwood Park; and granddaughters Brittni, Kaitlyn and Ashley.

The family sends heartfelt thanks to the outstanding care from Grey Nun’s Palliative Care team (Dr. Kim Loeffler) and the Tofield Health Centre Palliative Care Team (Michelle & Ashley).  While Dad wasn’t able to fulfill all his dreams, we will never forget everything you did to help our Dad fulfill his final wishes

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1pm-3pm, Monday, August 17, 2020 in Denis’s back yard at 4916- 53 Ave in Tofield, Alberta with a short memorial to be held at 1:30pm.  A funeral procession and graveside service will follow at 3:30pm at the Tofield Cemetery.  Memorial donations in Denis’s memory can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
