Gerald Tessier 1953-2019
Gerald E. “Gerry” Tessier, age 66, of Holyoke, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, December 16, 2019. He was born in Springfield, son of Rosamond (Ross) Tessier, of Holyoke, and the late Gerald J. Tessier, and was a 1971 graduate of Holyoke High School. Gerry worked for 20 years at the former National Blank Book Company, while concurrently pursuing a degree at Holyoke Community College. After graduating with his Associates Degree with honors from HCC, he worked as the Manager of LensCrafters in the Eastfield Mall for close to 20 years until retirement in 2017. Besides his mother, Gerry is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Kathleen M. (Fitzell) Tessier; three sons: Jeremy and his wife Kristi of Hampden, Ross of Holyoke, and Gerald J. “G.J.” of Holyoke; five grandchildren: Dominick, Miyani, Malaysia, and Joseph Tessier and Jacob Barowski; a sister, Mary Tessier Curro and her husband Peter of Blandford; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Beauregard and her husband Richard of Sturbridge and Noreen Donze of Chicopee, and many nieces and nephews. A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, December 19th at 12 noon in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 10 am to noon. The family asks to please omit flowers, and to instead consider making a donation in Gerry’s memory to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Ave, Waltham, MA 02451.

Gerald (Gerry pour les amis) est l'arrière petit-fils d'André Tessier et de Rachel Rainville,
cultivateurs de la paroisse de Saint-Félix-de-Valois, dans la région de Lanaudière, au Québec.
Vers 1890,la famille Tessier s'exile au Massachusetts,plus précisément à Holyoke,où André exerce le métier de menuisier.  À South Hadley, 6 kms au sud de Holyoke, nous retrouvons le monument funéraire de la famille.
