TACEY, MARY JANE Linwood, Michigan (Formerly of Essexville, MI) At the age of 102 years, Mary Jane died Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Huron Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Kawkawlin, MI. She was born to Theodore and Katherine (Nix) Duval on June 6, 1917 in Essexville, MI. Before her retirement in 1984, Mary Jane was the proprietor of Tacey Landing (Party and Bait Store) on Jones Road in Essexville. She was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Ev. Church), Essexville and its Altar Society; very active member of the American Business Womens Association (28 years), where she was named "Member of the Year & Woman of the Year"; and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1010, where she was named "Grandmother of the Year". She was married to Floyd Genow, who preceded her in death on 11/09/1955 and then later to Norbert Tacey, who predeceased her on 06/06/1989. Surviving family members include her daughter, Bonnie (William) St. Peter; stepchildren, Michael Tacey, Larry & Margaret Tacey, Kathleen LaCrouier, Dennis & Jeanine Tacey, Vermell & Cindy Tacey; 20 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren; 6 great great great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Marie Genow. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles & Barb Genow; two daughters and one son, JoAnn Genow, Betty Fletcher, and Floyd Genow Jr.; brothers, Edward and Charles Duval; four grandchildren; along with a stepson and his wife, John & Suzanne Tacey. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Ev. Church), 614 Pine at Hudson Streets, Essexville, MI. Mary Jane will lie in state at the church Thursday after 10:00 AM. Rev. Fr. Patrick C. O'Connor will preside and Rite of Committal will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to "wishes of the family". Visiting hours are Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, with the Vigil Prayer Service at 6:00 PM in the W. A. Trahan Funeral Chapel.
