Frances “Verna” TACEY, 91, of Essexville, our caring and loving mother,
Nanny, Great-Nanny, sister, aunt, and friend was born into eternal life
on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 18, 2017. Verna was born in
Hampton Township on February 9, 1926, the daughter of the late Joseph
and Louise (Stamszek) Solinski. She was united in marriage to Edward
James Tacey on February 22, 1949 in St. John’s Church. Sadly, Ed
preceded Verna in death on October 31, 2016. Throughout life, Verna was
known for her love of baking, canning, ice fishing, farming, shopping,
playing cards, and gardening. She leaves to cherish her memory, her
children: Sharon LeBrun, Dave (Ann) Tacey, and Les (Judy) Tacey. Verna
was the most loving and supportive Nanny of Kevin (Lesley) LeBrun, Kris
(Ashley) LeBrun, Jennifer Tacey, Breanna Tacey, and Chad (Jen) Barratt.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her great-grandchildren, Aleck
LeBrun, Daniel LeBrun, Chase and Sloan Barratt; siblings, Pat and Joe
Badour, Tony and Sally Solinski, and Floyd Solinski; brother-in-law, Tom
(Janet) Tacey, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. In
addition to her parents and her husband, Verna was welcomed home to
heaven by her twin girls, Mary and Margaret Tacey; son-in-law, Daniel
LeBrun, and a host of siblings and in-laws. Verna’s family will be
present to receive visitors on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 4:00 PM
until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Vigil for Verna at Skorupski Family Funeral
Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. On
Saturday, October 21, 2017, Verna will be taken to St. Jude Thaddeus
Parish (St. John the Evangelist) Church, 614 Pine St., Essexville, where
visiting will continue from 9:00 AM until Verna’s 10:00 AM Funeral
Liturgy. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate with the Rite of Committal to be
held in St. Patrick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to
the wishes of the family. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the
