Elaine M TACY

HATFIELD - Elaine M. Betsold, 78, of Hatfield, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, with her loving family by her side.

Born Jan. 5, 1934, in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Margaret (Frenier) Tacy of Northampton.

Elaine grew up in Bay State Village of Northampton and was a 1951 graduate of Northampton High School. Elaine was a bookkeeper for many years, first working with her husband at their business, the West Hatfield Mower Service in West Hatfield. She also worked for many years for Cauldwell Pipe Company and Benson Pipe Line Supply in Hatfield and later for Karl's Excavating in Hadley, retiring several years ago.

Elaine and her husband, Ed, were married for 57 years. She was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed family get-togethers and attending her grandchildren's band concerts and sporting events. Elaine also enjoyed reading, working at the Hatfield Town Hall during election time and walks with her best friend, Connie Bielunis.

Elaine is survived by her loving husband, Edward Betsold; her two daughters, Lydia Szych and her husband Michael and Janice Longstreeth and her husband, Ken; her two sons, Lloyd Betsold and his wife Sissy Lenard and Matt Betsold and his wife Penney; her sister, Jeanne Narushof; her brother, Don Tacy and his wife, Judy; her grandchildren, Lisa and Michael Szych, Luke and David Longstreeth, Alex and Greg Betsold, and several nephews.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. Calling hours will be Tuesday, from 9 a.m. till of time of service at the Drozdal Funeral Home in Northampton.
