Maurice Tessier 1927-2010 |
Born in Woonsocket on December 23, 1927, he was the son of the late Napoleon and Marie Zeylia (Beaulieu) Tessier.
He was the loving father of Jacqueline Prouty and her husband, Ron, of Sandwich, MA, Lorraine McGough and her husband, Rex, of Athens, GA, Pauline Tessier of Acton, MA, Lucille Noel and her fianc, David Morrocco, Sr., of Johnston, RI, Robert Tessier and his wife, Lynne, of Colbert, GA, James Tessier and his wife, Shelly, of Lexington, GA, Jane Hallett and her husband, Brian, of Bellingham, MA, Walter Phelps and his wife, Debbie, of Merrimack, NH; and his cherished 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Roger Tessier.
A resident of Woonsocket formerly of Bellingham, he worked as a machinist at Kendall Mills of Walpole, MA for 34 years retiring in 1985. He was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran serving with the 128th Station Hospital and received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, the Army of Occupation Medal and the Japan World War II Victory Ribbon. He was a communicant of St. John Vianney Church. He enjoyed working around his home, was devoted to his family and will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Friday, September 17, at 9:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM in St. John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Rd., Cumberland, RI. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Visiting hours are on Friday morning at the funeral home from 9:00 to 10:30AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
