Diplômé Ingénieur-civil de l’École Polytechnique de Montréal, il fut président et associé sénior de la firme Carmel, Fyen, Jacques et Associés, Ingénieurs Experts-Conseils en structure, et contribua largement au développement de la ville de Montréal de 1950 à 1985. Parallèlement, il fut Capitaine des Forces Actives de l’Armée Canadienne jusqu’en 1962.

Margaret THESIER


Carthage - Margaret Rose Gaebel, 90, former owner of M.R. Gaebel Inc., died Thursday, April 16, 2015, in the Country Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center where she has resided for five years.
Margaret Rose was born in New Bremen on August 16, 1924, the daughter of the late Leo and Katherine Sauter Thesier. She graduated from Lowville Academy at the age of 14. She began her accounting career after graduation, working for her father at Thesier Implements in Carthage for 12 years. She opened her own office and worked 28 years at her residence on the Copenhagen Road before moving the office to 850 State St., retiring in 1987 after 50 years of income tax preparation and accounting business. She married Sterling D. Gaebel on August 17, 1946 at St. James Church in Carthage. In 1971 the couple bought their first camp on Lake Bonaparte and enjoyed several summers there. Mr. Gaebel died on October 9, 2009.
She was a member of the National Assoc. of Tax Practitioners and was an enrolled Agent of the IRS, a former officer of the Ave Maria Circle of Carthage and a member of the Lake Bonaparte Conservation Club.

William THESIER

''W. Grant Thesier, 71, "Mr. Grant" passed away unexpectedly at his home in Pitcairn on March 6, 2012.

Born August 8, 1940, the 3rd youngest of 15 to Leo & Katherine Sauter Thesier of Lowville, he graduated from Carthage Central School in1959 and Canton ATC with an Associate's degree in Agricultural Management in 1961. He joined the US Air Force in 1962 where he was stationed in Germany and excelled as a crew chief on the F-105's until his honorable discharge in 1967. He married Katherine Hamilton of West Carthage on January 6, 1968 in Newport Beach,CA.. They relocated to Pitcairn, NY in March of 1971 and started in business with what would become Mr. Grant Contr. Inc. where he was sole owner and President.

His memberships include St. Lawrence Power & Equipment Museum, Greenwood Hunting Club, Edwards Snowmobile Club and the National Auto Sport Association.

His hobbies and interests include antique tractors, summers at Lake Bonaparte with family and friends and High Performance Driving. He had a great love of operating equipment of all nature, tractors, airplanes and his hobby farm. He truly enjoyed his antique tractors, especially working with them in the fields with his friends and grandson Steven.

He was very fond of and cared for all his employees and his business. He was a very caring, generous, dedicated, inspirational, ingenious, knowledgeable and thoughtful individual who built enthusiasm in others. He was a great leader, husband, father, mentor and friend. He will be greatly missed.

Grant is survived by his wife, Katherine, two sons: Steve & Bonnie Thesier of Pitcairn...''
