Wesley Tacey 1926-2017
Wesley J. Tacey, 91, of Midland, died Sunday evening, Dec. 17, 2017 at Stratford Pines. He was born Nov. 8, 1926 in Bay City, son of the late Lawrence and Helen (Winn) Tacey. He honorable served as a paratrooper with the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Berryhill Post #165. On July 31, 1948 he married Geraldine "Gerry" Linsenman in Pontiac. He earned his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Lawrence Technological University and his professional degree from the University of Michigan. Wes worked for The Dow Chemical Co., retiring in 1985. He was an active member of Our Lady Of Grace Catholic Church in Sanford, and enjoyed golf, woodworking and fishing.

Wes will be missed by his wife of 69 years, Gerry; his children, David (Kathy) Tacey of Silver Lake, N.M., Roger (Tina) Tacey of Lake Orion, Gerard (Margaret) Tacey of Midland, Phil (Diane) Tacey of Midland, Joe Tacey of Benton Harbor and Mary (Eric) Moore of New Franklin, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul in 1993; and by five brothers and sisters.

The funeral Liturgy celebrating Wes' life will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 2500 N. West River Road in Sanford. Father Daniel Fox OFM Cap. will officiate, with graveside burial rites in St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery. Wes' family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass on Wednesday. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

Arrangements for Mr. Tacey have been entrusted to the care of Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Directors.
