Donald James TACEY(1921-2013)

«TACEY, Donald James age 91, received his reward on Feb. 22, 2013. His mission on earth completed, his destiny with the Lord fulfilled. Born in Bay City, MI, on April 29, 1921, he served as an altar boy in church, went to school, and worked on his father's farm. He proudly served in the US Navy from Jan. 5, 1942 - Dec. 21, 1945 during the WWII years. First, in Kodiak, AK, as a Carpenter's Mate, and then as a submarine tender aboard the USS Beaver in Midway. Upon discharge, he moved to Tampa and worked as a barber for 50 years, also owning Don's Barber Shop. He married Lynnie Milam; and is survived by his four children, Donna, Douglas, Cheryl, and Robert; one grandson, Daniel; and a host of friends and relatives. He will be remembered for his good nature, quick wit, and love of life, a good joke, a catchy song and a dance...»

Rayburn V. Lavigne, 67, of Williston, died peacefully on Friday, July 12, 2013, with loving family by his side.

«...He was married at the First United Methodist Church in Burlington on Aug. 17, 1968, to Violet "Pinky" (Demar) Lavigne. Ray had a long and dedicated career at the University of Vermont for more than 35 years. He also served on the District 4 Act 250 Board, and was a member on the Board of Directors with ECHO and G.B.I.C. He proudly served his country for the Vermont Army National Guard. Ray was an avid hunter and fisher who loved spending time at the Lavigne's Lodge in South Lincoln. The family also had a camp in Malletts Bay where he enjoyed boating, fishing and family get-togethers. He loved to travel with his wife, family and friends and enjoyed many wonderful vacations to Aruba, Las Vegas, Montreal, New Orleans, and Florida...»

La descendance d'Urbain TESSIER, que l'on surnomma aussi LAVIGNE en Nouvelle-France pour son amour du bon vin, parti de Château-La-Vallière, Indre-et-Loire, en 1641 avec quelques compagnons pour venir s'établir sur l'île vierge de Montréal. Fils de charpentier, scieur de long de son métier, il a épousé une jeune fille de 13 ans, Marie ARCHAMBAULT, à Québec, en 1648, avec laquelle il assurera sa nombreuse descendance jusqu'à aujourd'hui. Au cours de son existence, il aura marqué la petite histoire de la colonie naissante avec un acte de bravoure contre les Iroquois, en 1651, et une miraculeuse survie aux mains de la tribu Onnnontagué du Haut-Richelieu, État de New-York, en 1661 qui l'avait retenu captif durant 18 mois, le maltraitant et lui arrachant même un doigt!
