Alta Coleen TESSIER
Alta C. LeMar, 85 years of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away Friday, February 24, 2012 at a local nursing home.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 28, at 11:00 am, at Miller Funeral Home, 507 South Main, Sioux Falls. Visitation will be for two hours prior to the service.
Alta Coleen Tessier was born on July 3, 1926 in Watertown, SD to Blair and Minnie (Heathcote) Tessier.
She received her education in the area, and in 1951, moved to Sioux Falls. Alta retired from Good Samaritan in 1988.
Alta belonged to Daughters of the American Revolution, Mary Chilton Chapter, and also the Augustana Lutheran Church. She will be remembered as a humorous, hardworking, feisty lady who loved gardening, dancing, and telling a good story. Alta enjoyed reading Karen Kingsbury novels. You always knew where you stood with Alta, because she would let you know. She loved all animals, including her pet squirrels.
Those left to cherish Alta’s memory include: step-daughter Donna Safford; three grandchildren, Ramona Singer, Paul Mitchell, and Major Steven Richter; seven great-grandchildren, Shauna Koepke, Sean Singer-Jackson, Chelsey Weise, Jesse Mitchell, Major Richter, Elaina Richter, and Lydia Richter; one great-great-grandchild Deonte Evans; three sisters, Dorothy (Verlin) Halverson, Rose Bailey, and Anne Guist; personal best friend, Balzer “Curly” LeMar; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and great friends. Alta was preceded in death by: her parents; daughters, Lois Mitchell, and Patricia Richter; three sisters; and four brothers.

Grandfather of Charles and Nicholas Graham.
Loved and loving Grandpa of Matthew Marrelli (Stacey Raymer), Kristian and Aiden Nicoletta and Hannah, Jonah and Lucas Fuller.
Great grandpa to Gabriel and Kaleb Marrelli.
Brother of the late Astrid Marinich (late Jockey), late Alvar (Gladys), late Arne (Terri) and Elmer (Dorothy).

Len was born in Blind River, September 24, 1930 and grew up in Thessalon and Nestorville.
A forward thinking and innovative business man, Len was one of 28 Charter members that founded the original Sault Civic Employees in 1959, now known as Northern Credit Union.
Friends may visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
At Len’s request, cremation and a private family service will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Zion Lutheran Church or the House of Kin would be appreciated by the family.

«HECTOR LAVIGNE (1957-present) was born in North Bay, Ontario on the 5th of
February 1957. Hector brought with him a wealth of experience from the
business world and his successful operational skills as an Insurance
Broker. During his term in office the following changes were made. On
July 16th, 2002, the Township of North Himsworth had its name changed to The Corporation of the Municipality of Callander under By-Law
2002-822. On May 6th, 2003, the new addition to the Callander Bay
Heritage Museum was named Alex Dufresne Gallery, under By-Law
2003-849. On May 20th, 2003, the title of the head of Council was
changed from REEVE to MAYOR, under the Municipal Act. During his
second term (beginning in 2007) Council started work on a number of
major projects including: replacement of the sewer main (and a new
pumping station) to the sewage treatment lagoons; construction of a new
roof structure (multi-use facility) over the existing outdoor rink;
engineering for replacement of the bridges on Hart Road; and engineering
work for reconstruction of Lansdowne Street (Hwy. 94 to Main Street)».

La famille Tessier a le regret de vous annoncer le décès de Mme Claudette Lemay décédée le 29 septembre 2012 à l’âge de 77 ans. Elle était l’épouse de Fernand Tessier et la fille de feu Octave Lemay et de feu Jeannette Tabot. Outre son époux, elle laisse dans le deuil ses deux fils: Daniel (Suzanne Roberge) et André (Rachelle Carré); ses petits-enfants: Caroline (Richard) et Rock-André (Laurence); ses arrière-petits-enfants: Jacob, Eliot et Étienne. Elle laisse également son frère, Claude (Berthe) ainsi que plusieurs beaux-frères, belles-sœurs, neveux, nièces, cousin(e)s, parents et ami(e)s. Elle fut prédécédée par son frère Marcel (Carmen) . Il n’y aura pas de visites à la maison funéraire. Le service religieux aura lieu le vendredi 5 octobre 2012 à 11h en la paroisse St-Joseph sise au 245 boulv. St-Joseph à Gatineau (secteur Hull).
